Pikes Peak Obedience Club (Otherwise called PPOC), chartered July 1977, is a recognized AKC club of the Colorado Springs locale. In accordance with our constitution and bylaws we have several inherent goals, such as dog training, obedience trials, and good sportsmanship.
Pikes Peak Obedience Club Goals:
* Dog Training for the people and pets of Colorado Springs. To provide dog training for unregistered, as well as registered dogs, although dogs who have not been registered with the AKC will not be eligible to compete in AKC obedience trials and sanctioned matches without an I.L.P. number.
* To advance, encourage and improve obedience training by assisting other clubs, by conducting dog training classes and by giving and supporting obedience trials under the rules and regulations of the AKC.
* To demonstrate by every possible means the value, helpfulness and pleasure that is an obediently trained dog.
* To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs and providing dog owners the opportunity to increase their knowledge of dog training and dog obedience.
* To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of all breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage good sportsmanship among its members when training and exhibiting their dogs.
* To encourage and help members who are interested in becoming AKC Obedience and Rally Judges.

PPOC is also active in the following areas:
- PPOC holds two major obedience trials each year & conducts AKC agility trials
- Through "Friends of PPOC" Fun Matches are held periodically
- PPOC has an active Nursing Home Visitation Program and a School Demonstration Program
